The next step of our journey was to go north, to the lovely land of Boone, North Carolina!
On the way, we drove around Butler, TN a little bit. It was... technically a town, it had some buildings! But more importantly, it had beautiful scenery.
We finally made it to our cabin in Boone, and it was lovely. In the middle of a mountainside forest, with not another soul in sight. We even made a new friend, a giant millipede!
We went into the town. It was beautiful, but it was a little too high-energy for us. It had a very intense atmosphere, an air of bright optimistic college-goers who want to change the world, when I'm more looking for a calm little coffee shop to write my programs in.
My favorite part was Goober Peas Country Store! It had DIPPIN DOTS!
It served fresh local eggs and butter. We got a real hefty chunk o' butter! That butter would end up traveling hundreds of miles with us. We even got it a nice Yeti cooler to live in!
I finally had an opportunity to season my cast iron pan! We are now officially vagabonds like Davy Crockett, traveling around the country with our little iron cookware.
